Did you know that in the April TACE run, the breed average for IMF in Angus Australia is +2.2 whereas Angus NZ’s 50th percentile is +0.8? The percentiles given in sale catalogues across NZ are from two different populations — Angus NZ and Angus Australia (including AngusPRO).
Are you using the percentiles given in sale catalogues to rank and compare bulls? If this is part of your selection process, make sure you know which population they’re registered in because it makes a BIG difference when you’re selecting and comparing bulls — if in doubt check the EBV figures to be certain of what you’re buying.
