We know it’s an incredibly busy time of year for you all, with Christmas looming in the not-to-distant future.
The AngusPRO members met for our AGM last week and it was valuable to have three key Angus Australia staff in attendance. CEO Scott Wright, company secretary Kathryn Duddy and communications manager Diana Wood came across the Tasman to talk through Angus Australia’s updated strategic plan and be a part of our discussions to ensure AngusPRO stay at the top of the beef industry here in NZ.
The Trans-Tasman Cattle Evaluation (TACE) recently went through a series of enhancements that have effected the EBVs of some animals – some for the better and some for the worse. It’s important to note that due to significant shifts in EBV figures for some traits, you should check percentile tables when you’re looking to benchmark a bull during the bull selection process.
An exciting addition to TACE for AngusPRO members and their clients is the addition of a Leg Angle EBV (Leg), which is an estimate of genetic differences in rear leg structure when viewed from the side. AngusPRO members have exclusive access to this EBV here in New Zealand.
Merry Christmas from AngusPRO
Have a safe and happy holiday season
